Potted Cats
I let Vera onto the porch last week and here is where she ended up, half an hour later. She even sidled back into the living room and tracked in all that dirt.
Cat update
I know it’s been a horrendously long time since I’ve posted, so here are a couple recent-ish photos!
I’ve been learning to play guitar recently, and Vera’s been spectating:
Also, April 17th was her birthday! Because she absolutely LOVES to eat on the dinner table with us, and I don’t ever let her, I conceded for her special day. She turned 4, and completely enjoyed getting her grubby paws up on the dinner table.
I fed her a whole can of Wellness wet cat food, her favorite, plus some bits of roasted chicken bone on top, which she’ll dig in the garbage to get. To my surprise, she completely ignored the bone and breast meat and went straight for the wet cat food. She’s not much of a predator!
I’ll try to update more — this is my space for cat silliness.

Happy holidays!
Here are some pictures of Vera (a bit delayed, as we were in Colorado). As I was cleaning the study, I heard a crunching sound and saw her climb into the box of computer components. I’ll bet she’s gonna help me put the new computer together.
As we packed for our trip to Colorado, she jumped into Ryan’s garment bag, as if she’d been waiting for him to drop it on the floor. I snapped this photo after she’d been hiding in it for about 10 minutes, head first, with only her tail and back-end sticking out.

Vera Update!
It’s been a while since I’ve updated Vera’s blog, so here goes! I’ve been super busy lately and Vera’s been guilt-tripping me about giving her yet-more attention. I figured she deserved a nice portrait in our new home :)

I came home from some errands, and looked around with no cat to be found. As it turns out, she was napping behind a quilted self-made fort.

Method for Keeping a Cat Warm
- Buy a sheep skin rug at Costco, on sale, for personal use.
- Let the cat discover the rug and declare it her property.
- Use a plug-in radiator heater to keep from freezing.
- Notice the cat freezing, and put the rug in front of the radiator.
- Watch the cat settle in.
- Drape an old towel over the heater and around the cat to keep her warm.
- Watch her sigh in happiness.
